I just signed my first commercial contract..........

I have been spending many hours each week for the past two months bidding commercials jobs. Well today I got my first deal from it all. It is a small job ($600 plus) twice per year, but at least it is a start. I do have a potential $40k plus deal possibly interested, but still have to work on them some more.

That is great, congratulations!

good for you. it feels good to get something on the books. i've been going to about 15 appointments per week for a month and doing demos and submitting proposals and so far i only have a few small contracts to show for it. For me, the challenge has been getting in touch with the decision maker and closing the deal. I have impressed countless assistant managers tho!

You might want to save the demo for the GM or higher up. The ass manager seems to be screening for the right price and when you hit the magic number the door opens to the next level. just my opinion so far.

Congrats! It is a numbers game, but persistence seems to multiply rather than add! I always tell my salesman, "keep the hopper full!" Make sure when you land the big one, you're already waiting on the next one to decide!

I have done around 70+ proposals. Coming from residential I think I have been shooting too high on price. One taker, if it is like neighborhood fliers I will expect to get most calls in the Spring. I understand the key is follow-up, so I will be spending my time doing that. For follow-up later, I was thinking of hiring someone who could be nicer ("organized female") and more consistent than myself to make sure it gets done.

Just make Sure you have a program in Place

Hey Ron, Nothing seems to go as planned... lol That is to be expected under the circumstances. This particular deal got put on hold for a bit but now is $500+ per month deal. It is May and going to get crazy. Can't find time to interview employee prospects.
