HydroTek

I am getting ready to purchase a new hot water machine and am doing some research. I think I may be leaning towards a HydroTek. Any thoughts on this machine? Good, bad, indifferent? Does anyone on here use one? If so, do you like it?

I bought a trailer from Northern Tool that turned out to be made by Hydro-Tek. I have had a few minor problems in the few months I've had it and they have been great to work with.

On this or any other bbs, I have never heard (seen) anyone have a bad thing to say about them...only recall positives.

I am very happy with my rig, but I sometimes wish I had bought directly from Hydro-Tek. The price was about $800 less from Northern, but H-T locates their water tank over the axle, as opposed to forward of it on th NT rig. Nothing a good pair of air shocks (which I needed anyway) didn't fix though.

my 2 cents

check out www.mobileclean.com click specials.
i like my LARGO very much.
They seem to be the most reasonably priced units around and quality of construction is very very good.
motors pumps are the same on most units so construction is where you need to look at.
not that i know anything about the unit your looking at.

If you rae dealing with a distributor, the distributor is more important than the machine in my opinion. The only way I would want to buy something online, is if I had the ability to fix the machine myself. I buy all of my stuff online, unless I am desperate. As for HT machines, the ones that i have seen appear to have good quality construction. The have a good appearance, but as Ron said, you need to look at the construction, are the joints reinforced? Are there a minmum of welds in the frame? Does it looke like the Unloader and pressure switche, etc, are easy to get to? All of these thigns will affect the future eae of servicability.

I have had a hydro-tek for 2 years now and the only problem I've had with it is when I forget to fill up the gas tank and don't bring any extra......LOL.....It is a great machine, but I agree the most Important is the distributor you are working with....BUt I give hydro-tex an A++++++ rating.

Ron P., I did check out mobile clean. But all I can see is one setup. I am sure they have more but they may be having web site problems.

Scott, I agree about having a good distributor but, and maybe CVPW can help me with this since we are so close, The dist. I was using was very high with his prices so I stopped using him. I now can't find anyone around here exept for chem. guys.

I am thinking about buying direct from HT and doing the maint. myself and/or taking the espec class.

Thanks for all your input.

MBryan, do you feel that is necessary with all units or just the HT? Does the HT have and adjustment to reduce the operating psi, gpm? I know you can reduce psi with tip sizing but not gpm.

Mike,
I have a great distibutor for Hydro-Tek and Alkota, if you are interested give me a call and I will give you the name and also call him to give him a heads up you would be calling him. He is great for machines, rigs and large purchases....just DO NOT buy any accersories from him. Anyway gimme a call if you would like and we can discuss it further....216-283-2704.

We have had a Hydro Tech SC3005 with a Kubota diesel engine for 9 years. Made a bunch of money with it and still has plenty of life left.

Thanks for everyones input, I have decided to go with the HydorTek, now I just have to figure out which model I will go with. That's the fun part.
Thanks guys.
Jared, don't forget to let me know about what we spoke about earlier.

I use a hydro tec for all my cleaning needs...pressure washing, hood cleaning, soda blasting. I have it for 3 yrs now never broke down....you need to think about what your going to use it for, the bigger the machine the more $ and there not cheap at all.If i was going to do it again i would get a skid and put it on a truck of some kind..i have a trailor unit and not once had to bring my own water to a job.We have good hydro macanics around here in cal..the factories in redlands cal.

I use Hydrotek equipment and haven't had any trouble. Will buy my next unit from them too.

I use SC30005 on their dual axle trailer set up.

Michael, Since you have decided on the Hydro Tek unit look at the SS30005VH or C30005VH. I have a Hydro Tek unit that is sold by Northern and it has been a good one except for having a few ignighters go bad. It is a 12 V machine and is on wheels. I think the Hot Water Wizzard can make sure you get the right one for your needs, give him a chance.

I probobly can't sell you one. That is to your advantage.
I am giving you an honest opinion based on real experience.

Thanks everyone. Still not sure which unit I will be going with, right now I am a little more concerned with the new unit I brough home tonight. Not sure of the psi or gpm but I do know it will be bringing many gallons over her life. We had a baby girl Sat. night so I will be putting a lot of my time in for her, but still have to make the cash, so I am will get back to biz tomorrow. Wiz, there is a dealer around me, but why couldn't you sell to me? I honestly would pay a little more for the same unit if I got better service, I know, I am weird like that.
