Hood buisness prices/marketing

I am taking a buisness class and in the marketing stage, how much do you charge for hood cleaning?. The last company I worked for was charging 350-400 a resturant. There is no code for hood cleaners how much they make, how many are in business, you have to classify them as Janitors.

Joe,
Hood cleaning is not the best choice of words, the more accepted term is Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning or KEC which includes more than just the hood. Pricing varies on many factors (time since last service, access panels, filters, length of duct, horizontals, fans, how close can you get your machine to the kitchen, geographic region and many many other things). By code for KEC are you looking for the SIC, NAICS, UNSpsc and NIGP codes? or are you referring to NFPA? As for how many are in business, I know of 89 in the Greater Los Angeles area. Some may classify themselves as janitors but they are only fooling themselves, they are supposed to be providing fire protection services (and should have that insurance also)

For an average hood what do you spend? For the marketing part of my course, I have to take the target market/competitors to get what I think is my share. I look in the yellowpages.com for the info for cometitors but I see there are more out there. Far as the price is concern, I have to show how I am going to make a profit.

Good thing your not looking in the ATL yellow pages, Im the only one listed yet there are many many many many out there.

If I remember correctly the naics is 561790.

Do you mean pricing based on the number of hoods? I don't think anybody does that, but I didn't think anybody had one man crews...

you may have a better understanding if you would call Grant or some of the others on here. Just send them a message via PM and ask if they would mind discussing it with you
