Google Information

I'm guessing you tech guys are familiar with this but for those that aren't. Google provides a FREE directory assistance for business numbers. I only use it on my cell phone but works on land lines too. You are just charged for your minutes like a normal out of network call. It's all done with voice recognition and works 98% of the time for me unless you get a tough to pronounce clearly name. At least for me. Once you say the prompt it dials the number for you.

The best part is you can be driving in an unfamiliar area and find any business by name or type of business. If you are traveling you can name a nearby city and say auto repair or wrecker service etc and it will give you a list. I program this is my wife and kids phones just in case.

Since I'm an old guy that needs reading glasses I programed it in my speed dial as AAA Google so it's the first number on my speed dial. Very handy and much cheaper than the cell phone assistance.

That is very good information Rick, Thanks for sharing that.

I did not know something like that existed, never heard anything about it, maybe just a well kept secret????

Thanks again, I will put that number into my cell phone also.

Google also has a free 411 service, so you can avoid the 411 charges your cell phone company charges you. And Googles 411 service is absolutely free.

I believe that's the same.

Ooop's, guess my second cup of coffee this morning hadn't kicked in yet when I posted. Rereading the original post, you are correct. Same information.

Excuse me while I try and get this boot out of my mouth.

:D
