I've been in the residential arena for a year or so now and have been getting some requests for some commercial work. I don't want to invest a whole lot yet because requests aren't frequent Figuring I will need a hot water machine for the few commercial requests. Looking at some used equipment but want to make sure it is worth it. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bfs/3019571309.html. I looking at this machine but it has 2500 hrs. I know it's a ton of hrs but guy said regular maintenance has been performed and looks to be in pretty decent condition. Is it still capable of performing for quite some time? I was thinking a fair price would be no more than $2000. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the same exact unit. If it has the 25hp Kohler I'd pass at anything 800$ or more

Thanks for the responses and input. Going to pass, guy won't even move on his asking price. Will eventually invest more and begin to target the commercial side.

Doug why are you so down on 25hp kohlor thats a low number you could sell the coil for scrap an get close? 1500-2000 is a good price for buyer and seller.

Got two of em. Both with about 1000 hours on them and am having some problems with them. In doing some research and talking to some others that have them, it seems to be a common thing with them. I got these machines when I bought out a company a couple years ago, and don't get me wrong I got them real cheap, and made my money back quick, But for someone that says he doesn't want to invest a ton of money, and doesn't have the "requests" yet for commercial, I would just advise to be careful with that many hours on them knowing the history of these that I do. Would hate to see somebody spend 2000$ on something with that many hours, regardless of how well the owner says they have been maintained, only to crap out on him in 6 months..I understand alot of people "don't want to invest" a lot of money, but sometimes, IMO it's best to buy new, if at all possible especially for commercial.

Yes 1500-2000 may be a good deal for both buyer and seller IF........

Wow i have had great luck with Kohlors i have had two hydrotek skids and got well over 2000hrs trouble free. What trouble are you having?
