Fence cleaning and sealing

I hope this question isn't too generalised and I'm sure there's many variables, but as I was going through the Delco price guide trying to write my own to get started with(I'm sure most things will need adjusting as I go on and find my feet) I came down to the part where they priced fence cleaning and sealing, for a 6' cedar fence their price was quoted from $3-$6 a linear ft per side, now like I said I know there are variables ie location, state the fence is in etc, but it leaves me without knowing where to start my own price guide as theres a big difference in 3 and 6.

Fence Pricing

I price my fences about $35 per side to clean and seal. Comes to about .50 cents Sq ft. works good for me.

outlaw I am new at this too; my price .75sqft or for a basic 6'x8' sectional fence =36.00per side, which is pretty close to walters pricing. Rick

We typically charge $5 per linear foot for a typical picket type and $6.00 per linear foot for a shadow box style. This includes both sides restored and finished. I usually bid my sealer cost seperately although.

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers here guys, but if anybody is actually using the Delco price guide you need to get a different guide. Most of the pricing leaves too much money on the table and makes your estimates too low. I know they mean well by having it, but it's really a bad idea to use that thing to base your pricing on.

We do everything by the square foot. If it's a two sided fence, it's double the square footage. Some people may disagree, but I know when I get a bid accepted we're getting every cent we should from every inch of that material we're restoring. Our bids are also a lot higher when submitted on a per square foot basis and it gives us more wiggle room if we need to adjust our pricing to be competitive.

Straight picket 3$ linear foot, shadow box pain in the a$$ 6$ linear foot. that is total linear footage (both sides).
