Exhaust Cleaning Insurance

Hey Greasers,
My Insurance is giving me the run around about classifications. The latest quote I have is for 1 Million but is classified as " Street Cleaning" .

What is your LOC code on your policy for your Exhaust Cleaning Business? I have been told by some I should classify as "Janitorial". For a million buck coverage I will pay 2,400 clams...how does that compare across the nation??

Oh and I do not think Joe Walters will be able to write a policy for me due to my location.

There is plenty of Insurance agents but the classification is what they are having trouble with..lemme ask you this Russ...what is your classification for your business?

Ditto cleaning service here too. Tell you another hard classification where to list in the yellow pages. There is restaurant cleaning. Industrial Cleaning and General cleaning. If they had a catagoryfor hood and duct cleaning we would be set.

OK i had my insurance agent and lawyer go thru this....
bottom line (KEC)not ansul service ect...
1.fire prevention----------33k yr
2.mechanical maintenance----15k yr.
3.janitorial----------------980.00yr
this is based on 1 mil policy...this is just the facts has presented to me.

So Lou you classified as "Janitorial"?

I hope to be purchasing policy this week just want to be sure.

The body of the policy 'on all 3' was exactly the ....every T that was crossed and every I that is dotted.
My insurance agent knows exactly what I do and how. Matter of fact a guy came out 'from insurance company' and took pics of a couple jobs. Every aspect of the job he was my shadow. Probably 40-60 pics of my work on each job.
and the short answer is.....YES

that also covers his multi million dollar upholstry buisness (its a world wide thing) and his 22 dojos

an intersting angle......okyou don't drink no more .....yet.....you come up with this.:D

From here Lou..

ooh OK ...janitorial is the heading on the policy.....with a description/explanation ...and function of what i do..ie KEC.
I pay less than than a grand ----FOR NOW... This is sure to change.

My hood cleaning is listed under janitorial for both liabillity and worker's comp. It is part of my total liability insurance. I carry 2 million liability for business and vehicle insurance. Not much difference between 1 mill and 2 mill. My insurance carrier is Tudor Insurance Co in Keene, New Hampshire. I do not have any more info than that. My agent is La Porte & Associates @ 503.239.4116. Ask for Terry. I do not know if they are able to write in Puerto Rico, but they do write insurance for a lot of us in the fire business.

Well the run around continues....They wanted to classify me as street cleaning I said no way. I told them I want Janitorial, they said it would triple premium and I would have to amend for every project...Now they have decided Chimney Cleaning...At least this is closer than Street Cleaning!!!

If they can come up with Chimney Cleaning and specify that I am covered for Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning I might go with that....Doing business in the Caribbean sure is uphill....If only there was an ........oh never mind.
