DropBox

Anybody use it? It is an app for your desktop that you can open and drop all of your files into and then access the from any other device and from anywhere in the world. Basically its an online server.

I dowloaded the app onto all 3 office computers, my ipads, and my Droid. Theres no updating, or backing anything up. You just open the icon, drag files in, and in about 60 seconds theyre available anywhere else you have dropbox downloaded or can log into the website.

Pretty cool.

Hm that is neat. That would be perfect if you don't have a lot of files and want to use the free version they show (2GB).

I actually just got Carbonite online backup which I found out you can use to view your files anywhere through the net or on the app on my blackberry. I've got about 50gb backed up through Carbonite for about 4 bucks a month so a little cheaper than dropbox, but I'm not sure if there is a limit on the number of computers you can have it on. Plus side is that it automatically pulls any new files or anything you've updated and backs up it right away so you don't have to remember to drag them to the dropbox

Yea I thought about Carbonite. I wasnt sure if you could pick and choose the files you wanted to share or not? This is mostly for me to be able to share files with the office girls without having to email back and forth or use thumbdrives. Also I dont think Carbonite is as easily accessible on the droid or Ipads, is it?

Good Stuff

I use carbonate as a backup. It does it automatically. I like that.

Tim they are different types of file backup. Carbonite automatically backs up all your computer files so if you have a fire, theft, hard drive gets fried, etc you can just go online and restore all your files
