Difference in hoses

Pressurized

Looking to buy new hoses for my new machine, and goodyear has some hoses like the neptunes... but what is going to be the difference between a 1 wire hose and a 2 wire hose? I want it to be flexible but strong and non marking.

2 wire are usually for higher pressure ratings. They are stronger, heavier and last longer. Usually cost more then 1 wire hoses but it depends where you get them from to.
2 wire hoses are a pain to work with but last longer then 1 wire hoses, I only get about a year out of them.

Ok, thanks again Chad. My machine came with a black hose thats 50' long that is awesome and not stiff... I believe it is a one wire because my other hoses are from lowe's... from when I first started and they are super stiff simpson hoses that suck with hot water

I only use R2 hoses for hot water cleaning, a higher-end goodyear R1 hose for cold water high pressure cleaning, and a lightweight import R1 hose for residential softwashing. I only use non-marking hose...mostly grey.

I will repair a hose once. When it ruptures a second time it goes in the trash.

Yea, especially when the second time is the day it was repaired lol.
Had that happen before to.

Those are just a few of the many, many, many reasons to buy commercial equipment from the great vendors on these sites. The box stores don't sell commercial rated equipment for what we do.

You get what you pay for, try getting supplies from these great vendors and your money will go a lot further in the long run.

I always buy 1 wire braid hoses and drag them a lot.

I have had ends pop off before the outer cover blows out.

I usually look inside the hose to see what shape it is in, a lot of times when it blows out, the outer casing is separating from the rest so it is time to throw it away.

I have tried repairing hoses a couple times when the outer casing was starting to separate but the repair did not last a minute, took longer to get the hose off the reel for the repair than how long the repair lasted.

Take a good look inside the hose, sometimes you will not like what you see and decide it is time to replace the hose. It would be nice if they last for years and years but they wear out, wire rusts, covers separate, ends come off, hose busts, holes appear, cover gets worn off from dragging, etc..... making them stronger would make them heavier and cost more so sometimes it is not worth it for a much better hose but always get the hose rated for your equipment and if you run hot water.

If I have a hose blow more then a couple of feet from an end, it gets tossed. I figure that means the hose is weak. I used to try and fix them, but after repairing the same hose multiple times, every time it went out, I just started tossing them.

Ditto, if it blows anywhere except at the coupler it gets tossed.
