I've got a rather large deck that has paint peeling up on it .Customer wants me to see how much of the paint I can get off to save them some time. Can I use my flat surface cleaner on this wooden deck ? Will it tear up the wood ?

I have heard you can but I have not nor do I know anyone who has. I suppose you can put larger tips in to lower pressure.
Are you going to use stripper? If you are I (I hope you are) I would just use a wand and after the proper dwell time start washing.
If the customer just wants the loose paint washed of with water I would most likely decline the job.

MMI,

Please put your real name and phone number in the signature line.

Thanks,

I took the paint off of a deck one time using the whitco machine ... I lowered the rpm of the motor and used a turbo nozzle... i also used a light caustic solution in a pump up sprayer...

I used just enough pressure to turn the turbo nozzle.. It worked pretty good..

Then My dad and I waited 2 days for it to dry then we applied a deck sealer .. It turned out real nice..

But guess what I didn't get paid...

Well my dad did fix me a steak dinner .. I guess thats a good pay for 3 days work ???

Thanks for the input-I'm doing all her concrete(pool area,drive,3 sidewalks), detached garage, picket fence and hopefully her house. I'm doing what I can to make her happy and meet her needs. She had said she might have someone come and strip it off later so today I suggested to her that maybe I could just clean it up real good till she has that done and not risk damaging wood by over working with pressure. A friend works in Lowe's paint shop says they have stripper that you apply, brush in ,let dwell and then pressure wash and its biodegradable. Still seems like a lot of work

Celeste-I'm still learning how this system works and will try to update info.
