I can hear Ron blaming Scott saying I told you to stick to fleets, now look what you've done
Tim more then likely it is runoff from cleaning concrete, have seen it happen before. Easy way to talk a prospective customer into changing, just show him how the current cleaner is damaging his property.
Caustic cleaner are not compatible with petroleum based products.
Therefore if you use them you need not let them stand on asphalt or other surfaces that are petroleum based.
Does this mean we shouldn’t use them on concrete where asphalt is near? NO.. We just need to be aware of how much we are using and to rinse the asphalt clean.
I can prove to the customers that these products damage asphalt by just letting them read the labels on many different brand concrete cleaners. sometimes even there own!!!
We use caustic day in and day out. When the product dries it will leave a hard granule substance on the service. That is caustic, we prevent this by using a procedure of neutralizing the area. We spray citric acid and that will neutralize the area. I would clean the service with a citric acid solution with hot water. I know very little about flatwork, however this process works on tile. concrete floors and so on.
Bryan , this contractor is using to much. he is not even properly rinsing. the method David used is very good. you could use the citric acid to just clean.
This is a caustic base but it is totally bio-degradeable. When you wash it off the fan and hood systems the surfactinates in it nuetrilizes the caustic and it turns into just dirty a!@ water. It iwill not leave evidence of caustic residue.
