Cargo Trailer

I am looking at setting up a second cleaning unit with a small electric unit (2.2 @ 1500 psi). Im looking for suggestions on how to rig it out and what size to get from some of you that are already using a cargo trailer.

My current unit is an open trailer like the ones used where I got certifed. It works fine but I would like to go enclosed on this one to protect it from the rain and the possibility of losing something while going down our rough interstate systems.

Any help would be appreciated. Pictures would be great.

It's a well used 2003 Haulmark, 5' x 8' x 4', black, 36 in. tongue, steel wheels, 3/8" plywood side walls, 15 in. tires with 2900lb single axle, 3 ladder racks, flat roof, easy lube hubs, trailer running lights, 24" side door with cam locks, 5' x 4' double rear cargo doors with cam locks, 2 in. ball, 4 pole connector, aluminum fenders, .030 smooth aluminum exterior, quick release trailer stand, 3/4" pressure treated plywood floor, directional lights on fenders, 15 amp. base motor plug, 110v interior receptacle, & flush lock door handle. This trailer is manufactured specifically for the hood & duct cleaning business.

I'm still using it now, but will be retiring it in the next few months.

I'll post a pic. The truck is sold seperately.;)

That's nice, but can you give a better or more accurate description? :D

How much will you want for it?
 
I haven't really compared the value, but I'm thinking around $1200.00.
 
Is that the one Rusty sells?
 
I think Rusty's trailers have been modified a bit since this one. But yes, it was a purchased from Rusty about 3 years ago. And other than a few knots on the back of my head, hence the 5', it has served me well.

Fellows,
Do those of you using cargo trailers for hood cleaning prefer the ramp gate or cargo doors? Also what size trailer do you prefer? Have any of you had a problem with burner ventilation in the trailer with the electric units?

Why do want to use a tailer? They are nothing but a pain. Get a nice flat bed or a van w a pull-out bed-Joey Bed.

Trailers are problems with alley access, drive thoughs-just prblem after problem.

I agree that trailers can be a pain but they work well for my area of the country. At least up to present I havent had many logistics problems. Right now I am using a 16' open trailer and would love the convinence of be able to lock everything up and keep my equipment and materials dry. (Southwest Louisiana)
Im converting to electric units for the hoods and will have two units on my trailer so the van becomes impractical for me. I did use a van for about 6 months and it was fabulous until I needed a third crew member and then decided to carry two units.

My plan was to go to a shorter (10'-12")cargo style trailer which should give me ample room for my equipment.

What setup are you using?

One of crew have a Isuzu crew cab with 2 machines and a electric crane. Everything is locked down plus the units has a GPS and the crews love. Make the investment-don't get a tailer-just my two cents.

If the van is cleaned and maintained, it will not smell-come over and smell my vans anytime

Hey Mike, here is my setup. If your putting two machines in there, you'll definetly need bigger. I bought mine from Rusty. For flat work, I have an open trailer. I'll try to give you a call today.

So you pull that machine out of the trailer and clean hoods with that setup-its your money. I am sure you know what is best.
 
good way to loose your rig-it must be vented-if you have a flame-a rich mix.
 
Is the burner exhaust blowing straight into the plywood siding of the trailer? or do you turn the unit so it blows out the side or back door?
