Not sure what you are asking. I don't see how the length of the duct matters if you are asking about catching the water as it come out at the hood, and what is your measure of success?
didn't miss a drop.

Yes I was asking about what comes out of the hood, Are you wrapping 20 ft with success or is it less, there has to be a limit that you cut off, to where you drop to the floor....
I have luck with a ten footer, but still have not had luck with any thing longer....
If you are wrapping a 20 ft "HOOD", what size plastic are you using, not the mill, the width....

Matt, It shouldn't matter how long the hood is. I use 10' 2mil plastic on everything. I will try to explain how I do it. I dont have any pics to show. If I have a 20' hood I funnel the plastic into multiple trash cans. Sometimes 2 or more. It depends where the dusts attach to the hood and where the water will be flowing. As an example on a 20' hood I will gather the plastic in the middle of the hood and run several strips of tape ( the clear packing tape ) from as high as I can reach up on the front of the hood, running down vertical and sticking to the gather of plastic. then I use a couple of small pony clamps to keep it from unrolling. So actually you have devided the hood into 2 10' hoods. Funnel the plastic into the trashcans like you usually do. The only limit is the amount of plastic you have ( 100'). Some times you have to be creative in where to gather the plastic and what to attach it to. I have used rope, tape, plastic, trash bag, just about anything you can. Some time I will clip a small pony clamp to the ceiling grid an tie a small rope and run it down to the plastic gather to hold it up.

A couple of things, I hope I can explain this so you can understand. I use 10x 100-ft rolls 2mil, cut as much as needed. When I measure out my plastic, I make it as long as the hood plus approximately two feet on both sides. After the plastic is secured at the wall I then pull the plastic up to the front corner of the hood. Not the edge of the plastic that is against the wall, it will not reach but I pull up the 10 ft edge of the plastic until it reaches the front end of the hood and clamp it. This creates a natural funnel. I hope you can visualize that, I don't know how else to explain it. This way you won't have to do so much gathering of the plastic. Also if you use a lower catch basin it will make it easier to set up larger hoods. I have gone down to a small 15 gallon rubber maid container at times with a pump in it so it does not overflow (only about a foot high) this gives the water less of a chance to pool and pull your plastic out.
As stated before sometimes multiple containers are necessary for larger hoods. We have a 40 footer we do this way, with 3 containers. We don't get it all but most of it.
