start giving him addresses all over town

I seen a sign in palm harbor said $25 driveways and $35 decks

I think we should advertise, that we will beat any written price, and drive all the lowballers out of business. i think it will take about 6 months. This seems to be a nation wide problem, and i dont see it getting any better.

thats what a lot of them do to our price. even though we're legit and they're not, a lot of people care about how cheap they can have it done.. not quailty or being lic/ins

i did a thread about some kid by me "29.99" driveways i called him out to do mine, when he got here it was 100$.. he wasn't lic/ins just another person with a person washer n their wand.

Well the thing is these people won’t be in business for long but when they finally go under there will be 2 more to take there spot. The problem is only going to get worst never better. Colorado still has or had the highest foreclosure rate in the Country. People are doing whatever they can to survive in this dog eat dog world and it's really sad that we are bringing one another down.

I don't think this is a big concern for those who are running a legitimate operation, most of the people you really want as clients won't pay these ads any attention. In some cases it my stir up some work for you once the homeowner actually becomes aware they need the work done. There is plenty of room out there for these guys to coexist. I myself have a minimum as most of you probably do, and won't fire up the truck for the price these guys advertise.

Here is a theory used in other industries, perhaps it would apply in ours....
lowballers receive calls from "shoppers" people mostly concerned with price. The lowballer may be able to complete the job to satisfaction, but will not make any profit, he will go out of business. He arrives at the "shoppers" house and doubles his/her "special price", customer says thanks anyway, but no. Either way, those who are credible in this business will perservere over time by being honest and explaining to every "shopper" "our industry supports a min. $75-$100 / hr, and if they get an unbelievable quote tell them: "You should hire them but be aware , you get what you pay for"

my 2 cents
