Update...

Allen is now home. He died 3 times at the track until they revived him a 4th time and got him stable enough for the stat-flight to a Louisville hospital. He spent 21 days in the hospital and a month in rehab. His heart muscle is weak, no surgery can fix it short of a transplant, so he's taking meds and now has a portable defibrillator. He's out of the pressure washing business for good, but his spirits are high. He's planning to file for SS disability.

The 2 crew members that got hit are going to make full recoveries, one had a gash to his neck, the other a shattered leg.

God just wasn't ready to call my buddy home just yet.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive vibes. I, and his family, appreciate it.

My brother had a similar situation and had to wear a defibrillator jacket. While being rushed to the hospital his heart was only working at bout 10% efficiency and was in respiratory failure because his heart was not pumping enough blood to his body. The doctors were going to implant a defibrillator/pacemaker in him. The put him on meds to strengthen his heart and it has worked so well that he no longer needs to have the implant.

Hopefully he will respond to the meds the same way
