1900's Mansion Restoration Pricing Help!

Hi everyone!

Got a call the other day to look at cleaning a 1900's Mansion. The house is built out of glazed or polished marble or sandstone bricks, hard to tell exactly which. There is a very subtle sheen on the outside and it feels very smooth to the touch. Homeowner is not sure which it is either. Anyways the house has general atmospheric contaminants on the surface and the chimneys have 100 year old coal soot stains. What a challenge! I have already contacted my PROSOCO rep and he recommended trying Enviro-Klean 2010. My question to you guys is how the heck do I price this? It is two stories tall and roughly 75ft. x 65 ft. I will need a lift for the chimneys and tops but the house is very square, so every thing but the chimneys is relatively easy to get to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We recently bid on a 120 yr old 2 story church (brick and limestone) a large building compared to most homes. The bid was pushing $10k,that included lift rental(1 week),cleaing 2 buildings and all sidewalks(7900 sq ft) and everything needed to complete the job.Eacochem Saferestore was the chemical of choice for us,but we were underbid by $3k.
Cleaning stone takes extra prep around windows, doors shrubs etc, because of the chemicals used in cleaning.Don't forget fall protection for the lift.
Check with the county building and zoning office they may have something on file that will give you an idea of what the home was constructed of.

Without seeing pics I would venture a guesstimate between $4000 and $5500

Thanks!

Thanks Squirtgun!

That is kinda inline with what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure before dropping the quote off.

Thanks again for your help.

Test spot, test spot and test spot. It may require you do different chem, pressure and dwells on each spot. Charge like you had to replace something, cause if you do have to replace something you will glad you charge what you did. Double check your insurance, That you will be covered or you have enough.

Good Luck,

Matt
