154ft. Cell tower cleaning from Crane Basket just finshed today.
I have done alot of boom lift work but being in a crane basket was a little diffent. The wind was pushing us around and around. Any way it was very cool the crane could go up to 2oo ft. and I could see the ocean. I love my job.

We wash them on the ground, but when they lifted them off the trailer, the crane operator put them on mud. So they ask me to say and wash them in the basket. It was a very cool job.

I did think of you while we were spinning around and tryed to spin us the oppsite way with the pw. Like what you did in the pool. It didnt work, just to much wind and weight.

Thanks I respect that it is business.

What was the gpm/psi on your machine you were using? What gpm/psi do you think you were achieving 150 ft up?

 No I wasnt scared at all. :dirol:
:joyful: I was pump up to be in the crane basket. My employee wanted to go but:big_boss: I told him to take the pictures.

We do alot of boom work, with this was just a little diffent. The crane was much smoother then a lift.:happydance:

Nice pictorial there Scott. If you do any more do you think could run a rope around the structure or anchor back to the ground, run it back to the basket, and keep tension to prevent push back and spinning? I'd have to make sure nobody was directly under the basket if I got to spinning around that high!

Thanks I asked the crane lift operator about running a rope out before I went up, he said they have never done that. I could see why, he went over the tower and around many times so a rope was out. It would have wrap around the pole.

The pw hose got wrap around it once but it wasnt a big deal I had 250ft. on. my employee just unwrap it. I was thinking that my employee could have grab the line but he was enjoying the show. It was a fun job

Love doing and seeing the different types of crazy jobs. Awesome Scott

Thanks

Jeff I love pressure washing, when your done everyone is happy how clean it looks, some people pat you on the back, some give you tips, and pass the word around. It is a cool job.

I own a print shop back in MA, this is by far better. Rush jobs everyday in printing. Now I work mostly outside and love that. I hired another new guy and he is so happy he is working and providing for his family.

Nice way to make a living for sure

Good job on washing the tower.

Do the cranes there charge by the hour or the day? Here they do both depending on the job.

Thanks Dave and Greg,

Chris I cant answer that question on this job for the 2 cranes.
Myself I was hired per hour with max dollar amount for 2men 2 pw and water. It was a great job. Plus they had a check in hand when we were done.

what I didnt expect is the amount of people who came by and watch and park there trucks and cars in the way. I ended up blocking some people in when I came back from filling my tank up. I am saying this is a 154ft cell tower and they are parking 75ft away from the tower and 20ft from where they are picking the sections up.
