12 V system

I might just have a bad battery but it got me thinking, if my honda motor has quit charging, and my unit is perm. mount inside the box. Will it hurt to connect my trucks battery to my unit, for my hot water.

Just wondering?

I plug my 12V diaphragm pump into my accessory plug where the trailer lights go. I just made a connection from my pump. If its 12V it should work. I don't even have a battery. Just leave your vehicle running.

It will just run it down, not good at night when you are alone. lol
Other than that I think it is OK.

Why don't you just run some wires from the truck battery to the PW battery and it will charge when you drive. just a thought

I dont have to leave my vehicle running because the pump doesn't draw that much. In your situation I would leave the vehicle running.

I was told by the guy I bought my unit from that if I left it running or cranked my truck while the units running i would burn up my transformer, just wanted some other input, Thanks.

I'm not sure about that. 12V is 12V. Thats how I was looking at it.

you can run lead wires from your truck battery to your pressure washer battery and put a perco on / off switch in between .. you can also put a battery isolator cap .. they use this in car audio systems that use big amps .... the caps prevent the battery from draining fully... if it was me i would run lead wires from my truck battery to another battery which i would use as a 12 accessory battery put the perco switch in between the truck battery and you accessory battery and run another set of lead wires to the pressure washer .. so when your pw is running you can switch the main line off to not mess up the transformer when the truck is running... i heard the same thing that it would mess up the transformer .. i dont know for sure ...

Thanks, maybe I'll be sober enough in the morning to comprehend what you just said. This is an older engine and I dont want to be digging into it every other day for electrical repairs. Knew there had to be a better way.

hey chris if you look at a pics of my rig its the second set of pictures on the last pic you will see an orange circle on the wall .. thats a perko switch.. i use that to switch all my accessories off when the truck is not in use....
