Russ could you tell us what makes a pro? I have seen your post about they need to be pro's.
A pro sticks to what he knows and does the right thing when no one is looking.
A pro types and envelope instead of hand writing it.
A professional is a member of a vocation founded upon specialised educational training.
I would never go to clean a hood (KEC) I have no idea how to do it properly and correctly, could I get it clean? Probably! But why would Ichance hurting me, my customers or my reputation?
A pro sticks to what he knows and does the right thing when no one is looking.
I have a million examples but the one thing that sticks out is this, a lot of guys buy professional uniforms, cards, fancy lettering, post cards and door hangers ect..... Does that make them a pro? Absolutly not! They go buy a nice rig, does that make you a pro? Absolutly not! A pro is someone who tries to raise standards and constantly improve and no I dont mean go do a job with the wrong equipment and do it anyway saying you are working to get better next time.
Business requires expense and time and knowledge, the biggest mistake in this industry is the guy with a Delavan pump and a tote tank in my oponion that rents a pressure washer when needed and tries to clean the world.
A pro sticks to what he knows and does the right thing when no one is looking.
Outstanding!
I'd add this - a pro will do whatever it takes to do the job right - even if he miss-bids and only makes $1.00/hr.
A pro doesn't look for someone else to blame when things go wrong.
Sorry Russ, I had to jump in. This is a good thread!
Ignore that post Chris!:to_pick_ones_nose:

there has been many times I wished I was making $1.00 an hour. I have done many jobs that actually cost me money to do them after paying for labor, fuel, chemicals.
The success of a true professional rests on the way in which its individual leaders demonstrate their ability, confidence, responsibility, honesty and respect, and all of these qualities comes from their reputation of an assurance of reliability.
This is all something that comes with time and growing knowlege. Like Russ said anyone can go out and buy equipment but that does not make you a pro. How many times have you heard the old saying "they have more money than brains" a Pro earns that name from his clients and his reputation as a person who can be relied on to do a job to it's completion without risk or harm to their properties.
I really can not think of anything to add.
