I think if i were you I would delete your post... It does look unprofessional doing that on someone elses post. Better to create your own post and use educational info like that and focus it on smart decision making for home owner rather then bashing another provider. You don't wanna sell negativity.... You don't want the customer focused on "they are bad". You want them focused on "you are good".

deleted.. i let my emmotions get the best of me.

extremely irritating tho. its this kind of crap that leads to "$200!?!? I had a friend get it done for $50!"... at which point is where i explain the difference, and sell my level of service.. sorry.. vent mode: OFF

I swallow my pride and admit I was wrong. Learning experience.

Anyone else reading this, remember it. Don't be quick to react. People are watching, and the way you act/carry your self, directly reflects your business, and professionalism. Or lack there of...

Sad day for CentraFlo ;(

Kidding. But seriously.

David at least he is not proclaiming to be a fireman in hopes the public will trust in his company to hire them just because he works for a city or county fire service.Concentrate on you an not other companies in your area and you might stay busy enough to keep off other peoples sites.

I feel your pain David. Happens to the best of us.

Kilo- he's not proclaiming it, because he doesn't have the ability to. If you were an A-rates business by BBB, would you advertise as such? Or leave it in the dark?

I am a proud member of the fire serviceI would imagine that makes people feel comforted knowing that I am trust worthy, and reliable. Unlike many contractors in all scopes, especially here in FL.

What difference is it if I were just to have a company name of "reliable pressrure cleaning"...? Insinuating that I'm reliable/trustworthy... Or "superior pressure cleaning" insinuating that my service is superior to any others??.. Your point is null.

And furthermore, I would imagine that keeping up with you're "competition" would be wise. If it wasn't, McDonalds would still be the only one offering a "dollar menu".

In some cases....maybe.....but in this case I don't see the point.

"Keep Your Mind On Your Business, And Your Business On Your Mind"........this stuff goes on everywhere, even in my area.....it doesn't bother me one bit, I pay 0% attention to, it benefits the betterment of my business 0%, it puts $0 in the bank........so why waste time worrying about "So Called" competition?

Because they're "Not" your competition.......they're the dollar menu.

Just Saying......

And that deserves a green dot... Thanks Guy!

Everyone starts somewhere and has bills they need to pay. Educated and responsible homeowners want an insured contractor with a reputation. Slum lords want only the front washed for 30% less than u quoted (no matter the first quote) the $79 driveway or $99 is not competition. He is market penetration. Understand your market may have clients from high end to low end rentals and everything in between. We all have to have scheduled work for the following day. Otherwise we will pay a marketing company a fortune to send us biz we already know how to solicit. Hope this helps.

I'm sure things like this can be frustrating....if you look behind you......so don't.....look ahead......don't follow.......Lead.

One other point about the "Convenience" of low prices........When was the last time you heard anyone say......."Boy I'll tell you, That Was The Best Dollar Menu Food I've ever Eaten"????.....Anyone?

This is not directed at anyone, and no disrespect intended......But if you're pissed at someone offering lower prices than you.....the problem is not with them....it's with you or better yet there's a large problem with your business.....step back....reevaluate.....pinpoint the problem or problems....then fix them.

People are looking for "Professional Services" and willing to pay for them....not just the lowest price. The problem is most business owners don't "Look" like a Professional Service, don't market themselves as a "Professional Service".........If you talk the talk....you better walk the walk.....from head to toe...from the vehicle you drive, to the website you have, from the reviews your business has, to the equipment you use.......Everything Says Professional......And will command a Professional Price.

I love this quote........"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." - Red Adair

As Always......Just Saying

There's a percentage of people looking for your services RIGHT NOW, people on the fence for your services, and people not even interested in your services... But it's about figuring WHO you want to target, at which price points, and the value you bring to the table.

Nothing wrong with the dollar menu if you're selling a boat load of burgers... There's obviously a market for that...

But as someone who takes their business very serious, I don't bother with volume based cheeseburgers. I'm chasing after the entire COW.

Like Guy says, it's ultimately up to YOU (the contractor) how you present yourself, and what customer base you want. I prefer steaks over cheeseburgers any day ;)

I've got to say that the last statement I made was largely influenced by Ron.

I didn't understand that concept, and seeing as this is my first business, it's like it smacked me right in the noggin lol

All you have to do is think bigger then your competition. Let him chase the small stuff.

I am going on 7 years in this business and I can tell you exactly what happens to these guys. They fall off the map! And there are actually many positive aspects to having guys like this around. Think of all the positives:

You can buy their small hot water trailer for penny's on the dollar when they go out of business. We need guys like this in the industry to ruin people's concrete and make us look good, to under bid jobs and go out of business so we can buy their gear for cheap, to set a standard of what not to do, and to educate a few people who had no idea what power washing was before they ran into this guy. Then next year they are going to call him and he will be out of business and then they will look for someone else to do it. Then they will find you and see the difference between what you offer and he did and you have a life time client.

Long story short, this hack is going to end up making you look better, saving you money on equipment, and bringing you more clients. If I were you I would like his post! hahahaha

I totally agree, same here....but I will add....If you've done your homework, and your business is projecting the image it's suppose to..........The Cow Will Chase You.

But Only If You're.........Visible.

And just so you guys know.....we are not the highest price service in our area..... but we certainly aren't the lowest......Pricing & Profit do coexist.
