Window Cleaning Certification. Good idea or not?

Tony how are you getting business like store front and comerical buildings know about the window cleaning certification.I have seen certifications for roof cleaning and pressure washing that pple spent hardern money get peace of paper that no one knew what it ment. How are to branding this to the public.

All my customers know I'm on the certification committee because I tell them. A couple have told people they've referred me too. It's up to us to active promote the certifications. In the beginning the ASE certified mechanics weren't known about either. It was up to the garages that had those certified mechanics to promote it to their customers. It quickly becomes a selling point. In time your area will begin to ask specifically about it. It takes time and I think those that like to put down the idea simply don't understand how these things work.

Tony I understand that but I have seen others try the same thing. In Florida 2 companies tried to sale the certification for roof cleaning I saw a lot pple get ripped off. Why you see ASE so big now is becuase the all auto companies force that certification on to mechancis they had to go to school learn the trade to get certified. I know of no college or a credited trade school teaching pressure washing or window cleaning. So how are you making your certification a credited program.

It's a 3rd party test for one. It's been developed and approved by over 60 people. You have to have years of experience in the business to even qualify to take the test. It's backed by a National cleaning association. Just for starters.

I'll use my 28 years of experience cleaning windows as a selling point any time I can. But why shouldn't a company who has only been around for a year, but spent a year researching and preparing, not be able to get certified if they are up on all the necessary requirements to be a truly professional company?

It's those companies that can benefit from the more experienced and certified cleaners who have been around long enough to have made the mistakes and seem how to fix them. UAMCC certifications aren't a feel good thing - they are meant to show that the company has the knowledge and experience to do the job right and have been tested in this regard.

Dan the Uamcc certs are free, you could get one. Just sign up

Who sells certs?

Who has vested interests , why do you continue to spread these lies?

You have secret interests in Wcra?

My support for the WCRA is not a secret.
One certification is free to paying members. I'm not criticizing the fact that any further certs. are $149. I just question the practical value for my own business. If I were convinced that they are worth it and I wasn't being taken I'd be in.

So are you saying that if you believe strongly enough about your being certified, your zeal will rub off on the customer?

Despite the sarcasm I'll answer you Dan. If you believe strongly enough you promote the benefits of your being certified to the customer just like you would flout your 28 years of experience.

Dan I don't know if you qualify to even be able to , don't think you can. So it's really not a worry

Ron not trying to pick on the org or certifications that you have. Some of your certifications are really great and educations is asume. But I really not sold on window cleaning certifactions. I clean windows down here in Polk not one of my storefronts or PM has ever asked if I am certified. I would like see you grow org have charters in every state then grown your certification programs than.
